This week we take a look at 4 childhood friends who grew up in one street in a dusty Cape Town township in the 60's, 70's and 80's. They were the first children of the area after the Apartheid regime removed black families from the CBD of Cape Town.

Vuyani Ngalwana, a distinguished senior barrister, has an impressive legal background. He is associated with the Johannesburg Society of Advocates and is part of the Duma Nokwe Group of Advocates. Previously, he served as the pension fund adjudicator for the Republic of South Africa and held the position of deputy director in the Asset Forfeiture Unit of the National Prosecuting Authority of South Africa. His educational journey includes degrees from the University of Cape Town, including a bachelor of arts, a bachelor of laws, a postgraduate diploma in tax law, and a master of laws in income tax. Growing up in Gugulethu, Cape Town, he attended various schools before crossing the railway line to Diocesan College (Bishops) in Rondebosch. Vuyani Ngalwana is also a Fellow of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network1.

While his professional accomplishments are well-documented, information about his personal life, including details about his wife, is not readily available in the public domain. As a senior legal professional, Vuyani Ngalwana’s focus remains on his legal work and contributions to the field of law1.
